Non-Piggable Solutions
Some pipelines that were built back in early 70s were not taken into consideration. Pipes were laid to transport the product and how the pipeline was constructed for maintenance was of minor importance. This meant that the majority of these older pipelines were built without launching/receiving facilities, consisting of varying diameters, mitred bends etc. etc. which make normal pigging techniques impossible.
