When maintenance and repairs are required to be carried out on a pipeline, specialised isolation tools can be used to isolate an area of pipework to enable this work to be carried out safely. This also removes the need to depressurise the line keeping downtime and costs to a minimum.

Low Pressure Pipe Plug

Low Pressure Pipe Plugs is used for sealing a pipeline at low pressure / gas seal. The plug features an inflatable polyurethane tyre that seals the pipe at low pressure. The plug seals are manufactured from high performance polyurethane elastomer whereas the body is manufactured from high grade carbon steel.

General Function and Application

Medium Pressure Pipe Plug

Medium Pressure Pipe Plugs are used for pressure testing. It features the proven principle of the inflatable polyurethane tyre. Larger diameter plugs have the multi-tyre design – independent inflation systems. The seals are manufactured from high performance polyurethane elastomer. The body is manufactured from high grade carbon steel.

General Function and Application:

Twin Tyre Multi Plug

Twin Tyre Multi Plug is a simple, reliable and economical tool for providing positive and proven isolation before hot work commences. It is also capable of hydrostatically testing any new welds afterwards – being a significant cost saving.

The Twin Tyre Multi Plug is presently used at many UK and Europe Refineries.

High Pressure Elbow Plugs

High Pressure Elbow Plugs are recommended for hydrostatic test applications. High Pressure Elbow Plugs are used when a weld or join needs hydro testing, but no flanges are available. Temporary flanges or pipe caps can be welded to the pipe and removed after testing, however this is expensive and time consuming.

Using High Pressure Elbow Plugs eliminates the cost of material and reduces labour time.
