Non-Intrusive Pig Signallers
The range of non-intrusive pig signallers accurately detect, signal and log the passage of pipeline pigs at critical points along pipelines onshore, offshore and subsea. All topside signallers are ATEX certified allowing for installation in hazardous Zone 1 areas such as on platforms and in refineries. All signallers provide a local indication of a pig passage via a graphical display and high brightness LEDS as well as a downloadable event log of up to 100 passages.
Unlike intrusive pig signallers, non-intrusive signallers can be installed quickly and easily to the pipeline. They can also be removed without difficulty if maintenance is required, eliminating the need to suspend production and avoiding significant costs as a result.
MAGNETIC
The magnetic pig detectors confirm passage of pigs carrying magnets, typically at launch and receipt, in onshore, topside and subsea pipelines.
The range of compact magnetic signallers detect magnetic pigs in any pipeline medium, removing any uncertainty over pig passage allowing operations to continue on schedule. Minimal set up is required ensuring that time is not wasted setting up various parameters.
Events are signalled as they occur via a graphical display and high brightness LEDs positioned around the perimeter of the display. The unit logs the time and date of up to 99 events. Logged events can be viewed locally on the display or transmitted remotely.

ID5000A™
ID5000A™
The ID5000 Passive Non-Intrusive Signaller signals the passage of pigs in any medium without the need for magnets or transmitters. The ID5000P™ monitors the acoustic emissions created by the vibration and acoustic noise generated as a pig moves through the pipeline. The unit then processes the emissions to identify the signature of a pig.
The ID5000P™ is ATEX & IECEx certified

Datalogging & Testing
The datalogging & testing equipment records and communicates data remotely at various stages of the pipeline precommissioning process in order to free up the support vessel to perform other tasks, leading to significant cost savings.
The Gauging Run Integrity Data system allows the operator to confirm a newly laid pipeline is free from defects prior to a hydrotest.
Throughout the hydrotest, the 6000SD monitors, records and reports pressure and temperature data freeing up the onsite vessel to undertake other operations.
Following the hydrotest of a gas pipeline, the line must be chemically conditioned in preparation for transportation of product. The MEG ARTS® system provides highly accurate information on the composition of MEG and other chemicals received subsea during this conditioning stage.

6000SD

GAUGING RUN INTEGRITY DATA (GRID)

MEG ARTS
MEG ARTS® is specifically designed for pre-commissioning of pipelines where lines require chemical conditioning in preparation for transportation of gas.The system measures the density of Mono-ethylene glycol or other chemicals in real time at the pipeline end termination for conformity with project specific requirements. Density, pressure and temperature data is displayed and logged for later analysis.
Up to 6 samples can be captured from the conditioning train for laboratory analysis and further validation of logged data if required.
With MEG ARTS® Online has addressed the challenge of cost-effectively and accurately confirming successful conditioning of gas pipelines in real time.

VOLTAGE GRADIENT PROBE

ROV SWITCH
Pig Signalling System
Lost or stuck pigs can result in extensive down time and significant additional expense. For this reason, pigs are frequently monitored during launch and receipt and when passing points in a pipeline that are deemed to pose a risk such as a valve, river crossing or other feature. This could be the case for all sizes and locations of pipelines regardless of whether managing a pipeline onshore or subsea, a buried pipeline, pipelines of varying wall thickness or a pipeline with geometric or operational challenges.
It may also be necessary to monitor pig passage from a remote location and as such effective data communication is vital.
SCRAPER PASSAGE INDICATOR
The Scraper Passage Indicators (SPI) or Pig Signallers are installed into the launcher and receiver units to confirm the launch or arrival of a pig. They can also be installed at any point along the pipeline to indicate that the pig has passed a specific point or pipeline feature.
Local Flag Indicators, which can be manually reset, or Electronic Sensors for remote indication of pig passage can be specified. Modern design uses magnetic interaction to initiate sensor actuation, minimising complexity and maximising reliability, safety and ease of use. Designed to retrofit to existing installations, IK-UK SPI unites offer quality, safety and the highest product standards.

Pipeline Geometry and Data Acquisition Services
Thirran Energy (TEN) collaborate with a reputable Principal that provides pipeline geometry and data acquisition services across all stages of a pipeline life cycle from construction right through to decommissioning and abandonment.
TEN work in partnership to support a broad base of pipeline cleaning, inspection, flow assurance
and integrity services, working with a wide range of international pipeline operators and pipeline integrity service providers. The full range of services includes pipeline proving, geometry surveys, pipeline data logging, debris mapping and assessment.
The Pathfinder was specifically designed for initial pipeline proving in lines with no pigging history and/or potential C113reductions in bore due to debris build up where an operator plans to initiate a pipeline pigging or ILI campaign. The Pathfinder has established a growing track record as a low risk, cost effective and innovative technology solution for measuring pipeline geometry, internal bore, detecting and measuring dents, ovality, buckles, wrinkles and the presence of debris/pipe wall deposits.
PATHFINDER FOAM CALIPER PROVING
The Pathfinder® Foam Caliper Tool is a pipeline inspection device with a high level of mechanical compliance, which is capable of negotiating severe
restrictions in a pipeline with minimal risk of blockage or damage.
Pathfinder has been developed for the first stage assessment of operational pipelines prior to the use of metal-bodied pigs. It can be used in conjunction with standard foam cleaning pigs to prove the bore of pipelines with unknown internal conditions, including:
• New and operational pipelines which have not previously been pigged
• Operational pipelines which have suffered damage due to external interference but are inaccessible for external inspection
• Operational pipelines with unknown levels and distributions of wax or scale deposits.
Information from the tool is used to identify the location and the size of localised bore restrictions in the line, allowing informed decisions to be made on the appropriate types and configurations of pigs to be deployed to clean or gauge the line.
Key Features and Typical Applications:
The Pathfinder comprises a medium density polyurethane foam pig with a removable cartridge containing sensors, electronics and batteries located in the centre of the pig. Sensors measure the compression of the foam at points around the circumference of the tool, allowing the tool to identify and measure bore changes, dents, ovality, scale and wax deposits and other restrictions in the line. Other sensors measure the roll (clock position), tilt and heading orientation of the pig.
An onboard logging system (with real-time clock) collects and stores data from the sensors, allowing pipeline features and anomalies recorded in the data to be referenced to pressure and flow records. For pig sizes 8” and greater an electromagnetic transmitter can be included for tracking and operation of Pig Signalers.
The Pathfinder is currently available from 4” up to 30” nominal size. With a maximum operating temperature of 70°C and a pressure of 400bar it can be used in wide range of applications and demanding environments. Designed to be mechanically simple, easy to handle and easy to use, the Pathfinder does not require specialised technicians infield and can often be used by client personnel.
Typical applications for Pathfinder include:
• Pipeline proving and bore measurement in pipelines with little or no pigging history.
• Locate & size bore anomalies such as restrictions, dents, partially closed valves.
• Pipeline debris measurement and assessment.
• Prior to a cleaning campaign to qualify existing debris volume.
• Used during the campaign to confirm pig performance and cleaning progress.
• Used at the end, to confirm cleanliness level.
• Go/no gauge for ILI and or other technologies.
• Pathfinder can be run periodically to trend and monitor the performance of long term operational cleaning strategies.
