Pigs are available in variety of combination to perform various functions in a pipeline however pigs are designed to perform a specific function. It is almost endless combination of pigs that perform a variety of functions in several different types of pipelines. The type of pigging used by the pipeline industry depends on the beneficial end results desired. To select a proper pig configuration, the operator must know the following things;<\/p>

Greater challenge arise when these pipelines comes with internal surface coating of cement or polyethylene liner. Beyond that, some pipelines inherit complex conditions that makes it quite impossible to pig (e.g. multi-diameter, stuck pig issue, sludge deposit, Wye-Piece and etc.).
